Starter Company Plus Information Session (Option 3)

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the 2025 Starter Company Plus cohort! This year, our popular entrepreneurship program will concentrate on helping early-stage and established small businesses in Mississauga improve their operations, stay competitive in their industries, and achieve new goals.

Starter Company Plus provides local entrepreneurs with the resources and knowledge they need to grow a small business. This free program offers:
1. Expert-led business training and skills development.
2. Mentorship from business professionals.
3. Networking opportunities to connect with fellow entrepreneurs.
4. Guidance in writing a comprehensive business plan.
5. Opportunity to apply for a micro-grant up to $5,000.

The first step to applying to Starter Company Plus in Mississauga is attending one of our mandatory information sessions to learn about the program. This session will include:
• Program eligibility requirements.
• Application process and program timelines.
• Participant requirements and what to expect throughout the program.
• Review of training sessions and mentorship schedule.
• Information about the program’s micro-grant opportunity.

To apply to the Starter Company Plus Program in Mississauga, you must attend one of our mandatory information sessions and confirm your eligibility to participate in the program. Attendance at the information session does not guarantee acceptance into the program or the receipt of a program grant. Application to participate in Starter Company Plus is a competitive process as there are limited spaces available. The delivery process of this program in Mississauga is subject to change annually.
The Starter Company Plus Program is delivered by the Mississauga Business Entrepreneur Centre (MBEC) for the Mississauga area. The Program is funded by the Province of Ontario and is delivered by Small Business Entrepreneur Centres (“SBECs”) similar to MBEC across Ontario. If you are interested in this program and are outside of the city of Mississauga, please refer to the list of Small Business Entrepreneur Centres and Community-Based Provider Locations in Ontario. IDEA Step-Up Program Pitch & Showcase

Since 2020, IDEA Mississauga had delivered the IDEA Step- Up Program to support the scaling companies to grow and overcome barriers.

This year’s cohort had the opportunity to attend workshops and seminars that address common challenges faced by the c-suite of scaling companies, connect with experienced mentors, speakers, and peers, and present to investors, industry partners and City of Mississauga representatives to get started towards their next round of funding, scaling, or partnership.

This event will showcase the innovations of the IDEA Step-Up Program participants in the Mississauga ecosystem.

Doing Business with the City of Mississauga

This webinar is a multi-department collaboration to further support Invest Mississauga’s US Tariff response efforts and the City of Mississauga’s Choose Canada initiative which encourages supporting the local economy by purchasing Canadian-made products and services. This webinar will also help introduce recent by-law amendments and other ways to support more local, diverse, and smaller businesses.
