IDEA Square One Entrepreneurship Hub

Located Downtown inside the Square One Shopping Centre, IDEA Square One is a 4,300 square-foot facility for startups, scale-ups, corporate leaders, and investors to collaborate and grow together. It’s an entrepreneurship hub that brings together like-minded entrepreneurs in a collaborative, creative space.

IDEA Square One is a central source for business information, resources and guidance including the facilitation of Mississauga Business Entrepreneur Centre (MBEC) programs.

Sheridan EDGE

Situated in Mississauga’s downtown is Sheridan College Hazel McCallion Campus that houses Sheridan EDGE, a launchpad for entrepreneurial and innovative ventures. EDGE helps purpose–driven entrepreneurs strengthen their impact and generate sustainable revenue. EDGE provides learning opportunities, mentorship, co-working space and funding to launch and accelerate social ventures.

Mississauga Board of Trade (MBOT)

The Mississauga Board of Trade (MBOT) is an association dedicated to representing the interests of the Mississauga business community. MBOT advocates on policy issues for businesses and provides a boost to Mississauga’s innovative cluster by giving our companies a voice in impactful and important policy discussions.

Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC)

The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is another asset in the downtown for innovators in Mississauga. BDC is responsible for assisting small-medium sized enterprises in securing financing – one of the most difficult parts of the innovative process.

Maker Mississauga - Makerspaces

In order to support innovation and growth, Mississauga’s central library system offers Makerspaces throughout the city. Makerspaces provide access to unique equipment that will contribute to supporting small business, innovative endeavors, and creative projects. Programs offered include: 3D Printing, Handicraft, Digital Filmmaking, Coding and Robotics and more.

Co-working Spaces

As a hub for growth, Mississauga offers co-working spaces for innovators to work and create. Downtown Mississauga offers several co-working spaces. These spaces take away the pressures and expenses associated with acquiring a working space, while providing the needs of entrepreneurs and innovators. Working spaces may include: private offices, podcasting and recording spaces, collaborative and event space, and more.
