IDEA Mississauga Alumni Kare Chemical Technologies Awarded Ontario Life Sciences Innovation Funding

Kare Chemical Technologies, a proud alumni company of IDEA Mississauga’s Step-Up Program, has been selected as a recipient of Ontario’s Life Sciences Innovation Fund (LSIF), receiving up to $500,000 to support the commercialization of its innovative pharmaceutical technologies.

Based in Mississauga, Kare Chemical Technologies is developing a patented platform to produce non-psychoactive therapeutic alternatives to opioids for pain management, obesity, and neurodegenerative diseases. The provincial investment will help accelerate the company’s growth, support commercialization efforts, and contribute to the creation of high-quality jobs in Ontario’s life sciences sector.

Kare Chemical Technologies’ success highlights the strength of Mississauga’s innovation ecosystem and the impact of entrepreneurship programs like IDEA Mississauga’s Step-Up Program, which supports scaling companies with mentorship, business development resources, and strategic connections.

The announcement was part of the Ontario government’s $5 million investment through the latest round of the Life Sciences Innovation Fund, supporting companies advancing made-in-Ontario medical technologies and reinforcing the province’s position as a global leader in life sciences innovation.
